Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
Therapy can be helpful whether you're navigating a specific challenge or simply feeling that something in your life isn't working the way you'd like it to. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or uncertain about their next step. Others are seeking greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, or a deeper sense of purpose. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
-
The phone consultation is an opportunity to get to know one another. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what you'd like support with, and what you hope to gain from the process. I'll also answer any questions you have about how I work. Together, we'll begin identifying goals and determine whether we're a good fit.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic foundation. As your goals evolve, we may decide together to meet less frequently. Therapy is always collaborative, and we'll regularly check in about what feels most supportive.
-
There isn't a one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients seek support around a specific life transition over the course of a few months, while others choose longer-term therapy focused on personal growth and deeper healing. We'll revisit your goals throughout our work together to ensure therapy continues to meet your needs.
My Approach
-
Holistic therapy recognizes that emotional well-being is influenced by the mind, body, relationships, environment, and, for many people, spirituality. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the whole person and support meaningful, sustainable change.
-
Yes. If spirituality is an important part of your life, there is room for it in our work together. Whether your spirituality is rooted in a religious tradition, mindfulness, nature, personal beliefs, or other practices, we can explore how it shapes your experiences and supports your healing. Therapy is always guided by your values and preferences, therefore spirituality is never assumed or imposed.
-
Not at all. While I enjoy working with clients who are spiritually curious, many clients simply appreciate a holistic approach that considers the whole person. Therapy is tailored to your unique needs, values, and worldview.
-
I integrate evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, mindfulness, and other holistic interventions. Rather than following a rigid formula, I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing from approaches that best support your goals and unique way of processing the world.
-
Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that uses eye position to help access and process unresolved emotional experiences stored in the nervous system. Many clients find it helpful for trauma, anxiety, performance concerns, and emotional blocks. I may recommend Brainspotting when it feels appropriate, but it's always your choice whether to incorporate it into our work.
Who I Work With
-
I commonly work with anxiety, life transitions, stress, burnout, self-esteem, relationship challenges, grief, identity exploration, and personal growth. Many of my clients are thoughtful, introspective individuals seeking greater clarity, resilience, and connection with themselves.
-
Absolutely. Many people begin therapy because they sense something isn't quite right, even if they can't put it into words. Therapy can provide space to understand patterns, clarify what's important to you, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
